Tuesday is final day to enter Oklahoma Aquarium’s ‘Dive with the Bull Sharks’ contest
The last day to enter the Oklahoma Aquarium’s annual “Dive with the Bull Sharks” contest is at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
The drawing of the winner will take place at 5 p.m. July 7 at the Oklahoma Aquarium. Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Leitch will run the event with 2018 winner Jodi Cooper on site as well.
This is the third annual “Dive with the Bull Sharks” contest the Oklahoma Aquarium has hosted. The Jenks-based aquarium has the largest collection of bull sharks in the world. The contest is held in association with “Sharklahoma”, a month-long celebration of sharks at the Oklahoma Aquarium in collaboration with the Jenks Chamber of Commerce.
The grand finale of “Sharklahoma” will give one contest winner the opportunity to swim with the sharks in the world-renowned tank. The winner will wear a 40-pound, $6,000 chain mail suit and a GoPro to swim alongside scuba-certified aquarium staff.
All contest entrants must be certified scuba divers, 18 or older, and provide their certification number on the application.
The winner will receive an all-inclusive trip including transportation, hotel, and meal vouchers. The dive takes place on a date of the aquarium’s choosing in late July, so entrants must be available to dive on this date.
The diver will be required to sign a liability waiver and complete a check-out dive prior to diving with the bull sharks. The contest is valid for U.S. citizens only.
