City of Jenks suspends public gatherings at City Hall and Fire Station Two

The City of Jenks is suspending all public gatherings at City Hall and Fire Station Two in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jenks Mayor Robert Lee confirmed with the Jenks Tribune Thursday that the city will not allow gatherings at “community rooms” at both City Hall and Fire Station Two. This includes court dates, city hall meetings and other such gatherings.

City of Jenks operations will still go on as scheduled. This only applies to public gatherings at the locations.

This decision was made in coordination with City of Jenks staff and first responders, according to Lee. The police and fire departments have been monitoring the situation closely.

“The main thing is we want to protect our citizens and protect our staff at this time,” Lee said.

The Jenks Tribune will have more updates on the situation as they come.
